The higher commission payable on homes due to the HST will cause house prices to rise. That along with the extra cost to consumers for so many other things due to the HST will hurt the economy greatly.The small amount that the Ontario government issued to residents recently in rebate cheques hardly makes up for the additional amount the consumer will to be spending.

Jo - they certainly have hiked the cost of living in Ontario
Nobody sent me any money. Sellers will now want us to reduce our commissions even more because of the HST.
I went past a funeral chapel and they actually had a sign out front saying to pay up early to avoid the tax.
Jenny - I wonder if they ask for or expect to get a reduction in the HST??
